Explore our sculpture hall. Here you will find models for some of the sculptures from the park, knowledge about techniques and materials, a look back at the sculpture throughout art history and much more.
On the first floor you will find our sculpture hall, where we present sculptures. Here you can learn about the sculptures you encounter in the park, what techniques and materials are used when making a sculpture, and look around our small library or sit down and draw after one of the park's many sculptures.
The Sculpture Hall is divided into zones with a focus on different aspects of sculpture:
The sculpture park around Silkeborg Bad is our example bank. Here are historical sculptures from when the place was a spa and modern and contemporary sculpture by both Danish and foreign artists. The Sculpture Hall brings together knowledge about the park's sculptures, their design, materials, the time and style they belong to and about the artists behind the sculptures.
In the library you can sit down and find books about sculpture; about the history of sculpture, about individual artists, about sculpture parks around the world.
Sculpture as an art object has existed for thousands of years. On the wall you will find our timeline, which provides insight into the development of sculpture through the ages and the classical styles that sculpture has gone through up to today's almost indefinable concept of sculpture.
Many places in the world have sculpture parks - large and small. We have started a registry with addresses for all these places that are worth visiting if you are traveling around the world.
Craft is a large part of the prerequisite for the artist's work with sculpture. Make yourself comfortable on the sofa and see how, among other things, the sculptor works in stone and how the complicated process behind bronze casting proceeds.
The Sculpture Hall contains a workshop with the opportunity to try out some simple ways of making sculpture. Workshops will be arranged, and school classes can work together with sculpture in both theory and practice.
You can hear more about the individual exhibits in the Sculpture Hall in our Audio Guide, which you can borrow at the reception.
