At the core of our work is collaboration with the exhibiting artists. Occasionally also with external curators from Denmark and abroad. Where possible and relevant, the institution is continuously involved in the organization of exhibition tours, nationally or internationally. This involves collaboration with other institutions or with artist organizations.
The Silkeborg Bad Art Centre is a member of the Danish Art Association (FKD).
FKD was established in 1992. The art centres are all exhibition venues that regularly arrange exhibitions of art. The association sees it as a special task to communicate contemporary art, be a platform for new experiments and create space for dialogue between Danish and foreign art. The Silkeborg Bad Art Center has a close collaboration with Silkeborg Municipality, but we are an independent institution with our own management and strategy. We naturally have many relationships across the board with other actors in the local community, from education and business to cultural actors, organizations and individuals.
In Silkeborg, we support local ambitions through individual events, interdisciplinary or cross-aesthetic projects that are in line with our purpose and focus area and make strategic sense. These are often larger or smaller collaborations on different things with one or more of the following:
